Examples of jewelry, flatware, and metal sculptures made by Joy Raskin

Joy teaches workshops and classes in a wide variety of jewelry and metalsmithing processes and techniques, from a number of venues located in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. A list of currently scheduled workshops appears below on this page, and this page is updated regularly.

She also offers customized workshops to interested groups or individuals, often in her studio.

Joy's main specialities are spoonmaking, wireweaving, stone setting (from the basic bezel to prong setting), making rings, and finishing jewelry or metal objects to get that perfect finish! Past workshops have also regularly included chainmaking including Viking chains and hand-knitted chains; silversmithing; metal-surface embellishment such as texturing sheet metal by roller printing, hammering, or keum-boo; hinges, clasps, closures, ear wires findings and cold connections; vessels, hollow forms and box-making.

Groups or individuals interested in scheduling a customized workshop with Joy are encouraged to contact her by email at spoonladyjr@juno.com. A minimum of three students is needed to run a workshop. Workshops range from $95-$150 per person for one day, and $200-$300 for a two-day workshop. Materials, except for sterling silver or gold, are provided with the tuition fee. Joy also offers week-long intensive workshops.

Art schools, organizations or individuals interested in contracting for a workshop should contact Joy to discuss details.
